Sigrid Bendz and Lea Basch take you on a dreamlike, sparkling spin through the menstrual cycle. The shifting seasons of the year and the phases of the moon, set the scene for a cosmic-biological narrative inspired by menstrual myths, taboos and rituals; a full bodied sauce dripping with colour, music and magic.

The idea of the woman as sinful and the shaming of female bodies is integrated in our language, in science and in popular culture. For women worldwide the constructed taboos and the silence surrounding menstruation is an obstacle to equality, development and women’s health.
While the bleeding phase on its own has gotten some attention on the feminist-political agenda over the last few years, MoonLooper invites us to recognise the whole female cycle as a bodily function with great magical potential.
