Individual freedom in the face of different sets of expectations is central in the works of Charlotte Thiis-Evensen. «Movements» is a dance film produced in 2024 that alternates between people in their early twenties dancing and staging poses through music they have picked for themself.
Youth is culturally connected to idealism, alongside the unmistakable transition in insecurity that vaporizes in our late twenties, leaving us for disparate adulthood. In Charlotte Thiis-Evensen new video work “Movement’ she mediates what she sees as a force in the lives of the idea of the “young” person, more specifically humans in their twenties.
